Job description
The Operations team at TULA is growing, and we are looking for a Director of Quality & Regulatory to lead quality assurance, quality control and market/product regulatory compliance. In this role, you will own the end-to-end quality and regulatory functions for the Company. This role reports to the Sr Director of Operations and will be fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and optimize the entire QA and QC process for TULA Skincare
- Own market/product regulatory compliance for TULA Skincare - including managing the Regulatory Manager
- Execute a full quality assurance program with our third party manufacturers, ensuring compliance with FDA, CGMP and regulatory requirements, and that all supported data is maintained internally and is available upon request.
- Ensure all regulatory and product filings are in place and in specification required by law.
- Develop strong relationships with co-packers, contract manufacturers, component and material suppliers to ensure the supply of quality products.
- Work with the co-packers and internal teams to evaluate any quality issues with the formula, filling procedures and/or component failures ensuring to identify cause and responsibility along with initiating & leading corrective action plans.
- Manage, monitor and revise all departmental technical procedures, ensuring we are compliant within our 3rd party manufacturers, the USA, and International countries in which we distribute.
- Responsible for managing the end-to-end Change Control process, including cross-functional communication regarding updates to Bills of Material as they relate to reformulations and component changes.
- Manage, review and recommend revisions to improve overall quality of systems and processes related to product quality with our vendors and third party manufacturers.
- Work closely with the Product Development and Operations teams to test all new componentry to ensure a quality and 100% functional experience is created. Work with PD to ensure all compatibility tests are compliant, recorded, and maintained.
- Serves as onsite quality representative on single projects or multiple projects such as line trials, component trials, etc. as needed.
- Coordinate with the Sr Director - Operations and Legal on all third-party contractor and supplier quality agreements.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in Quality and Regulatory
- 1 year+ of experience with people management preferred
- Previous experience within Beauty Industry strongly preferred
- Ability to work, project manage, problem solve and find solutions independently
- Strong organization skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- Must be a proactive team player skilled in communicating with all key stakeholders across multiple departments and management levels
