The
Director of Procurement and Payables is responsible for leading the Procurement and
Payables Department; managing the daily
Procure-to-Pay Operations, developing, recommending, and implementing strategies to strengthen supplier management, the procure-to-pay processes and reduce cost. The
Director of Purchasing is also responsible for managing procurement and
accounts payable staff, company purchasing and accounts payable policies, ad hoc projects, and continuous improvements initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- 5 years experience in management role
- 5 years experience with procure to pay principles and systems
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership
- Ability to develop and implement a well-thought-out procure-to-pay strategy that incorporates key metrics, consistent reporting, and ability to identify key issues within the context of the bigger picture
- Ability to manage and direct effectively
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level and to work cross functionally with diverse teams and incorporate business stakeholder goals and objectives
- Must be able to problem solve while effectively handling multiple tasks
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and direction to staff with an emphasis on talent development, teamwork, and job satisfaction; conduct annual evaluations and development planning; lead recruitment, hiring, promotion/demotion, disciplinary counseling, and termination or reassignment activities.
- Oversee all staff scheduling and assignments to ensure all work functions and requirements are completed effectively and at the highest standards
- Organize staff and resources to execute initiatives effectively and efficiently and monitor/report progress; elevate issues and concerns timely. Hold staff accountable to meet standardization and department goals.
- Lead the end-to-end procure to pay process, including policies, procedures, system, controls, and service delivery
- Manage the administration and execution of transactions within the procure to pay function. Work with supporting staff to maximize efficiencies, increase effectiveness and provide mentorship.
- Implement and support all procure to pay systems enabling cost efficiency, improved financial integrity, and improved stakeholder experience.
- Define and manage payment strategies and associated processes. Work with treasury as needed.
- Manage the Company's purchasing, reimbursement and travel card programs, policies, and associated procedures
- Deploy project plans to integrate and standardize procure to pay services and processes. Provides training and removes barriers to meet project plans
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience by proactively engaging with business and technical owners to ensure services, tool, and systems provided meet the organizations present and future requirements
- Ensure a robust control environment through new technology, improved processes, and strong system interfaces that are well documented, tested, and remain in alignment with the end-to-end procure to pay delivery model.
- Participate and manage department operational and capital budgets to meet/exceed approved budgets
- Analyses KPI trending and data; creates action plans for site improvements. Strives to exceed benchmarking.
