Director of Trade Compliance:

- Salary: $135,000 and up based on Experience
- Employment Type: Direct Hire
- Provides expertise regarding trade compliance regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Foreign Assets control (OFAC), and other applicable U.S. government export/import agencies
- Reviews and authorizes the use of appropriate ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions
- Provides trade compliance training to employees
- Conducts screening and risk mitigation (i.e., Denied Persons List)
- Prepares and submits export license applications, technical assistance agreements, manufacturing license agreements, and commodity classification and jurisdiction requests
- Develops international trade compliance procedures and processes
- Conducts internal audits to determine any potential violations and identify areas of improvement
- Responsible for harmonized tariff schedule classifications, country of origin determinations, and Free Trade Agreement- related issues
- Maintains, registers, and renews all export and import registrations
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s Degree in Business, International Trade, Finance, or related field required, Master s Degree preferred
- Working knowledge of the EAR, ITAR, CBP, OFAC and other related government laws and regulations
- 8 years related experience in trade compliance
- Understands the licensing procedures for Department of State and Department of Commerce licenses
- Strong working knowledge of free trade agreements
