Position Summary:

Working with the V.P. of Development & Strategic Initiatives at BridgeBuilders, lead and perform the administrative functions related to the operations of the South Dallas Driving Academy. This program assists 18-28 year-old residents of South Dallas to obtain their driver's license in preparation for a career in Transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Promote the Driving Academy within the communities of South Dallas
• Conduct information and Q&A Sessions with local residents
• Manage the preparation of marketing materials and social media posts regarding the Driving Academy
• Enroll local residents in the Driving Academy and conduct their orientation
• Schedule participants written testing and driving training (as required) with instructor(s)
• Coordinate the payment of participants’ traffic tickets with a local judge (as required)
• Manage the Driving Academy’s Mentorship program and pair these volunteers with participants
• Assist participants in scheduling DPS appointments and arrange transportation (as necessary)
• Supervise Driving Instructor(s)
• Working with the V.P. of Administration at BridgeBuilders, manage the financial activities related to the Driving Academy (i.e., budget preparation, expense approval, financial management, etc.)
• Prepare information for periodic Board of Directors meetings and updates
• Manage the maintenance of Driving Academy vehicle(s)

Requirements:

• Agree with the belief statement of BridgeBuilders and maintain a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Leadership and supervisory capabilities
• Texas Drivers License and commendable driving record
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
• Ability to effectively multi-task
• Must be able to lift, push, pull or maneuver up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time

FLSA Status: Exempt (full-time)
