Director of Sales
Summary/Objective

As Director of Sales for Lakewood Brewing Company you will be at the core of every marketing and sales activity as you create an invaluable relationship between LBC, our distributor partners, and accounts. You will be responsible for promoting the best craft beer on the market and what we represent as a company to both new and existing accounts, in allotted geographical locations. You will need to be a proactive, energetic sales professional offering hands-on experience in strategic planning and execution along with a profound ability to set and attain sales goals for LBC.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain existing and new distributor relationships
  • Develop and maintain existing and new Chain account relationships
  • Manage Chain account submissions, deadlines, cut-ins, post-offs, pricing strategy, and marketing program sell-in
  • Forge partnerships with new distributors as territory growth is warranted
  • Ensure profitability by brand and package is being maximized
  • Identify growth opportunities with new and existing accounts
  • Develop the overall Sales strategy, forecast, and budget for the brewery and present tomanagement for approval
  • Work in accordance with the Brew Team and Logistics Coordinator to ensure zero Out of Stocks across the LBC wholesaler network
  • Work cross functionally with Creative Director to create, build and execute marketing programs that leverage LBC products at retail
  • Suggest and monitor budgets for marketing initiatives; includes setting and monitoring performance metrics
  • Provide ongoing assessment of distributor and brewery marketing spends to maximize effectiveness
  • Identify lagging brands that need additional support and determine strategy for addressing
  • Use data to identify opportunities for new or expanded distribution, lost sales, and incremental volume increases
  • Represent the brewery at selected festivals and events such as but not limited to brewery dinners, tastings, and promotions
  • Set and monitor goals for sales team
  • Plan staffing levels and compensation for sales team within budget
  • Manage sales staff
  • Report to management on sales
  • Collect competitive data (pricing, distribution) and work to adjust as needed
  • Closely monitor progress of territory and within accounts
  • Develop incentive platforms for internal teams and identify tactical brand/SKU acceleration initiatives for retail

Knowledge and Skills

  • Sixyears industry experience selling craft beer preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the Texas market for craft beer and high level of craft beer product knowledge
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, very self-motivated
  • Ability to work within a team to accomplish goals
  • Strong leadership skills: must be able to inspire, motivate, and lead a successful team
  • High sense of ownership and accountability
  • Strong work ethic; demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Competitive spirit with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving results
  • Strongly values and protects entire brewery team harmony
  • Strong judgment and professional maturity
  • Excellent oral, analytical, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational & planning skills
  • Ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as weekend and extended workdays are necessary
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable automobile

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job: Must be able to lift up to 30 lb. cases and occasionally 165 lb. kegs of beer.
