YOU:
The Director of Sales (DOS) will strategically implement sales and marketing programs to achieve and exceed sales goals. The DOS will be responsible for supporting the GM in developing programs and strategies that improve market penetration and increase sales throughout the year. As a senior leader on the Sales team, the DOS will be responsible for driving changes that result in profitable business growth for the property. The DOS will also be looked upon to champion and drive the customer-centric (internal and external) and revenue-driven culture at the property. The ability to effectively create and communicate sales and marketing principles, strategies and initiatives is essential.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The DOS position is primarily focused on sales generation with an approximate split of time between sales functions, revenue management, budgeting/forecasting, networking, marketing and administrative functions.- Management of sales team includes training, coaching and development of managed personnel based on performance and accountability.
- Partner with cross functional teams (on-property and corporate level) to attain a cohesive team environment and drive profitability. Interfaces proactively with all support departments (i.e. HR, Banquets, Culinary, and Operations) to obtain best results and favorable outcomes for all parties
- Achieve/exceed budgeted property and individual sales targets (self and team).
- Constantly monitor optimal business mix and continually identify and develop new markets and products to proactively react to changing market conditions.
- Develop and expand penetration in existing markets (i.e. leisure, group, corporate, SMERF, FIT and others).
- New business development by identifying and expanding penetration in existing accounts and untapped market segments.
- Set parameters for group business consideration and manage group contracts, rates, space utilization of banquet/meeting space and agreement terms.
- Prepare yearly sales and marketing plan, budget and revenue targets.
- Collaborate on weekly forecasts and actively participate in weekly revenue calls; utilizing property revenue management processes, rate and inventory management and forecasting to optimize revenues based on demand.
- Submits monthly pace, target to actuals, action plans and other reports
- Participate in national and regional trade shows and sales missions that are applicable to property
- Demonstrates and promotes Edgewater culture, values and management philosophy

SALARY:
$120, 000 TO $140, 000 DOE, INCLUDING COMMISSION AND BONUS
Requirements:
5-years of experience in sales, group catering events or like employment with management experience- Effective people management and staff development experience
- Must be financially adept and accountable in managing to budget
- Must have experience in the development and execution of sales and marketing plans
- Planning, organizing and effective time management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals & objectives
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems
- Flexibility with occasional weekends and ability to travel and attend networking events, trade shows and conduct sales appointments
- Passion for outstanding service, competitive spirit, strong leadership skills, and a track record of accomplishments required
- Demonstrated success working and building effective internal relationships that move the business forward within matrix, team-based environment
- Executive presence and proficiency in written and oral communication skills, consultative selling skills and dynamic presentation skills
- Experience with computer applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Springer Miller System or other property management systems, and Delphi Sales & Catering System.
