Currently seeking an experienced Director of Quality to work locally within Greenwood,Ms.

The rate of pay is depending on experience between $70k-$100k or potentially higher for the right candidate.

The schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional overtime as needed.

Industry Experience and Skills Required:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or related field experience will be accepted.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt; ASQ certification a plus, but is not required.
  • Strong leadership skills; 5-10 years leading a multi-plant / corporate level quality system
  • 5+ years’ experience, of which 3 years minimum in a high volume appliance or automotive industry
  • Strong APQP and Process Control implementation skills
  • Strong supplier quality and development background
  • Able to supervise hourly quality auditors
  • Facilitate implementation of in-process inspection
  • TS16949/ISO 9001 lead auditor trained. UL, KIWA, CSA or In-Metro quality systems knowledge beneficial.
  • Background implementing ISO-9001 / ISO-140001 / TS-16949 business system and completing 3rd party registration
  • Analytical skills required for documentation of continuous improvement and product development
  • Ability to make effective decisions and communicate justification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in common software such as Minitab, MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Access.
  • Proficiency in dBase development and queries
  • Proven ability to drive significant warranty reductions and change from past assignments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Establish quality goals by communicating requirements necessary and establishing system to achieve goals.
  • Defines, measures, analyzes, implements, and controls key quality characteristics data for process quality management.
  • Utilize statistical techniques to demonstrate process capability, reduce defect, improve quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Challenge and drive improvement outcomes throughout the organization.
  • Ensure that all quality documentation is effectively maintained and continuously updated to reflect existing procedures.
  • Establish standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods and procedures.
  • Establish rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures.
  • Utilize management skills to direct and coordinate the efforts of employees assigned to the Quality Department.
  • Provide quality training and facilitate management systems certification.
  • Communicate the Quality system to suppliers, customers and stakeholders.
  • Provide Leadership to Continuous Improvement Activities
  • Develop, implement, and communicate a short and long term strategies regarding new product development.
  • Develop and utilizes continual improvement methods to enhance process control, consistency, and costs.
  • Works with management to identify and coordinate successful implementation of continual improvement activities including manufacturing operations, maintenance, quality, environmental, cost and other key drivers.
  • Support corrective & preventive action activities aimed at providing customer corrective actions, quality management system issues, correcting process deviations, and error proofing known and discovered potential failure modes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
