The Director of Operations will provide leadership and overall operational excellence of a safe and efficient operation. This position is responsible for Rail Runner Mountain Coaster, Park Quality, Adventure Play Elements and Adventure Rangers. This position requires strong leadership skills and an ability and desire to coach and develop leaders within the department. The Director of Operations oversees the execution of and participates in the parks Duty Manager program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides strategic and tactical leadership to department in order to ensure all operational locations are operating safely and efficiently as well as meeting guest service standards
- Provides in the moment coaching and training to direct and indirect reports, ensuring that leaders understand the goals and are coaching their reports in a positive, results oriented manner to achieve efficient and effective operations, guest service, general standards, and teamwork
- Maintains an open line of communication with leadership and front-line team members in the department
- Develops, trains and models operational SOP’s and guidelines
- Establishes, maintains, and enforces location specific operating standards and policies
- Effectively resolves guest service issues and manages escalated concerns
- Works collaboratively with all Anakeesta divisional department heads
- Displays and coach’s expert knowledge of department and company policies and Anakeesta values and history
- Manages and participates in Manager on Duty program
- Develops and manages the labor and non-labor budget for the department
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years leadership experience in theme park/attraction operations
- Demonstrated / progressive experience with rides, attractions, adventure elements and crowd management a plus
- Proven ability to build and empower a team
- Proven ability to work together and function effectively in a team environment
- Strong ability to develop and implement strategies and tactics to drive the business forward
- Outstanding communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities quickly
- Ability to move / lead operational aspects forward with refined resources
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to act swiftly, decisively, and persistently when faced with obstacles; strong ability to expect and solve problems quickly
- Ability to uphold the highest professional business standards and integrity
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs
- Must be able to move about, climb, bend, twist, kneel, stoop, carry, push and pull up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to adjust to outside temperatures ranging from 0 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit with fluctuations in humidity.
