Moses Lake Community Health Center (MLCHC) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to fill our Director of Nursing Services Position. The Director of Nursing Services embraces responsibility and accountability for the planning and execution of the clinical, quality improvement, financial, and operational activities of all Moses Lake Community Health Center medical departments. The Director of Nursing Services supervises the Medical Staffing Coordinator, Inventory Clerk, Nurses, and Medical Assistant Supervisors of all MLCHC medical departments.
Responsibilities
- Oversees financial and operational activities of all Moses Lake Community Health Center medical departments
- Ensures up-to-date, safe, and quality care provided by the nurses and medical assistants.
- Collaborates with others in coordinating clinical operational activities to meet organization objectives and improve workflow efficiency.
- Develops and manages programs that are compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g. Employee Health, Post Exposure, Infection Control Program)
- Proactively provides leadership to staff to promote a respectful, safe, and positive work environment
- Actively contributes to the leadership forum to promote the exchange of information amongst leaders and departments
- Ensures that current policies and procedures are updated for accuracy and relevance
- Manages department human resources functions
- Demonstrates adherence and support of the MLCHC mission, vision, goals policies, and procedures of MLCHC
- Provides excellent service and support to all members of the MLCHC team
- Understands and retains focus on strategic goals and communicates them effectively to staff
- Efficiently manages expenses of the department adhering to Finance guidelines
- Actively participates in Quality Improvement efforts
- Performance of the duties and responsibilities of the job requires the equivalent of formal training in Nursing, usually in the form of a major in nursing as part of a bachelor’s degree program
- Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
- Ability to read and speak Spanish and /or Russian preferred but not required
- Travel between work sites required. Must have reliable transportation and provide documentation of auto insurance and valid driver’s license as required
- Ability to effectively communicate their point-of-view, conclusions, or analysis of information
- Ability to effectively listen, empathize and pursue problem-solving with co-workers to resolve mild conflicts or disagreements
- Ability to effectively use strategies for diffusing conflict in communicating with patients or others who are upset
- Ability to coach others toward resolving conflict or coming to solutions from conflicted positions
- Participates actively and constructively in meetings to ask questions, express own ideas, and advance solutions
- Ability to bring up a discussion and gain input or feedback from others in a team setting, e.g., huddle or meeting
- Ability to prepare and deliver communication/presentations effectively to large groups
- Advanced organizational skills to manage extended or multi-function projects or departments within the organization
- Able to anticipate and re-prioritize work in response to changes in circumstances
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team to accomplish tasks
- Ability to generate new options for addressing problems and achieving desired outcomes
- Ability to adjust effectively to changing work assignments or changes in work processes
- Ability to learn new information and apply new learning on the job
- Ability to effectively use job-related systems software to their full capability and perform complex/advanced functions
- Possesses advanced level general skills, including written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills, and mathematical knowledge frequently acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree program
