The Little Sisters of the Poor, at St Joseph’s Home in ENFIELD CT, are seeking a DIRECTOR OF NURSING to become a part of the team of caregivers to join them in their mission of hospitality to the elderly poor!

Qualifications:

• Must hold a current CT state R.N. license and be a Registered Nurse in good standing.
• Prior experience and background in geriatrics, supervision and nursing management.
• Must possessed refined leadership and organizational skills.
• Must have thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations that govern a long-term care facility.
• Must have the ability to identify and initiate problem solving in the areas of physical, psychological needs associated with aging and loss involving the Resident, family and staff.
• Must serve in a leadership role in dealing and directing day to day organizational management of the health care team.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Mission and Values of the Little Sisters of the Poor, at St Joseph's Residence.
• Accountable to the Mother Superior / Administrator with appropriate delegation of responsibility and requisite authority in writing for the provision, direction, supervision of nursing care.
• Assure that the total nursing care needs of the Residents are met by assigning a sufficient number of nursing personnel for each tour of duty. Schedule staff in a timely and accurate manner to meet demands of the department and the Home.
• Visit Residents regularly to assure maximum care and services are provided, assuring daily rounds are made on each nursing unit by an assigned charge /supervising nurse.
• Assure that all nursing/consulting services provided are appropriate and consistent with the policy/procedures of the Home and within state/federal regulations.
• Assure that a comprehensive assessment is completed and reviewed for each Resident as required allowing for the highest practical level of physical, mental and psychosocial functioning of the Resident.
• Assure that a Plan of Care is initiated and implemented for each Resident and that it is reviewed/modified as indicated.
• Assure that nursing documentation is informative, descriptive of care rendered and that is in compliance with state/federal regulations.
• Assure that the maintenance of medical records is in accordance with all standards and practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $128,000.00 per year
