Job description

Directors of Nursing are responsible for leading and supervising a nursing unit. This position is ultimately responsible, and accountable, for the nursing care received by residents. They often report to the Nursing Home Administrator/Executive Director. Specifically, Director of Nursing job duties include:

• Serving as a liaison between nursing staff, doctors, and healthcare administrators
• Creating standard-of-care guidelines
• Overseeing and implementing changes to nursing best practices, such as shift changes and infection prevention procedures
• Recruiting, onboarding, and training new nursing staff
• Developing short- and long-terms goals for the department, such as staffing goals, procedural goals, standard-of-care goals, and quality measures
• Monitoring and recording expenses
• Setting nursing staff schedules
• Evaluating nurse performance
• Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal policies and regulations
• Communicating with patients’ families, physicians, and medical residents
• Direct focus on quality measures and making necessary changes within the department to improve quality measures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,876.78 - $90,000.00 per year
