Felician Village is seeking a Director of Mission Integration and Pastoral care. We have been a part of the Lakeshore community for over 135 years and the recipient fo the Best in the Lakeshore for 13 years. This role is part of our senior leadership team and will report to the CEO.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
  • Possesses a deep personal commitment to living out the Mission and Core Values of Felician-sponsored ministries.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to develop and facilitate the formation resources and programs for staff, leadership and Board Members of the ministry that focus on Catholic identity including the Ethical and Religious Directives of Catholic Health Care, the traditions of the Felician Franciscan Sisters and the Mission and Core Values of Felician-sponsored ministries.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to lead programs and celebrations that focus on Catholic identity, the traditions of the Felician Franciscan Sisters and the Mission and Core Values of Felician-sponsored ministries.
  • Possesses the competence, credibility and willingness to participate as a full member of the ministry management team – assuring integration of Mission and Core Values in daily operations, financial and strategic decision making.
  • Demonstrates the ability and courage to address issues that challenge the Mission and Core Values, Catholic Social Teachings, and the Ethical and Religious Directives of Catholic Health Care.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to develop and initiate pastoral care initiatives and programs that address and support the spiritual care needs of residents, families and staff of all faiths traditions and understanding of spiritual beliefs.
  • Possesses academic preparation and/or relevant experience and formation, appropriate to the scope and type of ministry. A Master’s degree is required in any of the following: theology, mission integration, and pastoral ministry. Spiritual direction is preferred and has excellent oral and written communication skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Has overall responsibility to direct, manage, supervise, and evaluate the departments and employees of assigned responsibility
  • Develops, revises, implements, and administers all policies/procedures applicable to areas of responsibility
  • Assures a supportive, safe, and positive work environment for all staff and responds appropriately to employee relations issues
  • Assures all staff respect each individual’s cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences
  • Is responsible for compliance to all regulatory requirements in their area(s) of expertise
  • Assists with the selection of staff for areas of responsibility and assures the completion of orientation to job duties and work environment
  • Participates in Administrative Team meetings and other meetings as required or assigned
  • Assures that Mission and Core Value orientation and ongoing programs are provided for Board members, management, staff, volunteers and others as appropriate
  • Provides leadership for planning and implementation of the Annual Mission and Heritage Week
  • Prepares and recommends an annual budget for mission-related activities
  • Serves as a leader in preparation for and coordination of the Annual Sponsorship visit
  • Assures completion of an annual community benefit report; works with Director of Marketing
  • Conducts a periodic ministry assessment (developed by Felician Services) that
  • · Identifies the mission-related needs of the ministry and
  • · Seeks feedback/evaluates the Mission programs and the integration of Mission and Core Values
  • Collaborates with and supports the ministry Administrator in the integration of the Mission and Core Values in the daily operations of the organization
  • Initiates and assures completion and implementation of the ministry’s Mission Integration Plan, supported by the Administrator and the Felician Services VP Mission Integration
  • Serves as a member of the ministry management team and collaborates in the integration of the Mission and Core Values in all aspects of operations (i.e., planning, policy development, leadership/staff development and finance/budget); regularly attends Board meetings
  • Assures management team agendas and decisions include a Mission and Core Values focus
  • Serves as a resource to the management team, providing perspectives from Catholic social teaching and moral tradition – raising value-based questions and concerns related to the ministry’s decision-making
