To be a successful Director of Foster Care you must become able to do the following always:

1. Ensure a trauma informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for staff and those served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and a focus on resilience and recovery.

2. Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.

3. Meet department goals and advance within competencies.

4. Participate in the development and delivery of Foster Care initiatives as outlined in the strategic plan.

5. Provide supervision ensuring staff are trained and competent in their job functions, meet or exceed their performance expectations, outcomes, and goals.

6. Seek to aggressively build foster homes by partnering with churches and other organizations to ensure the ongoing recruitment of foster homes.

7. Ensure licensing and other applicable accreditation standards are met within the foster care department.

8. Participate in program audits.

9. Participate in budget review and ensure budget is met.

10. Practice Supervision for Success daily.

11. May assist with Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and grant applications.

12. Maintain or grow in expected competency level.

13. Participation in supervision, agency-wide and staff meetings.

How you will spend your time in this job:

· 40% Program Oversight

· 30% Direction and Program Development

· 15% Performance Improvement and Compliance

· 10% Financial Management of Budgets

· 10% Supervision, Committees, and Meetings

To qualify for this job, you need to have:

1. Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field.

2. Licensed by the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Boardpreferred.

3. Three or more years of direct foster care experience and two or more years of supervisory experience required.

4. Ability to travel, driving agency or personal vehicle including at night. Ability to do occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Able to walk upstairs. Ability to work flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Employee is subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
