The Parent Child Center of Rutland County is seeking a nurturing, collaborative, and professional early childhood education director for their Rutland location.

Founded in 1984, the Rutland County Parent-Child Center (RCPCC) partners with families and individuals to encourage education and connection in the community. The Parent Child Center provides childcare, early intervention services, high school education for pregnant and parenting youth, parenting classes, and teen immersion programs to over 800 people monthly in Rutland County. RCPCC uses a 2-Gen approach, working with both families and children simultaneously to identify needs and align programming to deliver services for long-term impacts.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills (with both children and adults), extraordinary patience (children have Herculean inner strength), and a wellspring of joy (we want you to love what you do, and we want our children and families to know it).

(These qualities are as important as your degree).

· A minimum of one year of experience working in early childhood education.

· Must be qualified as a Teacher Associate or higher according to the VT State Childcare Regulations.

· Must be willing to complete additional required trainings.

· Assisting in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.

· Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order and availability of classroom materials.

· Maintain frequent communication with families.

· Help ensure smooth, daily transitions.

· Follow all center policies and state regulations.

· Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

· Additionally, the ideal candidate will be familiar with guidelines and regulations surrounding early childhood education and can serve as a mentor for others. This candidate must be a self-starter, detail oriented, organized, and willing to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.

· All employees must pass a criminal background check.

*Preference will be given to candidates who have at least 2 years of experience teaching children under age three, have a Bachelor's degree in Early Education or a related field, and have college courses in business management. Please refer to the Vermont State Childcare Regulations for additional information on qualifications.
