Starting Salary Range - $73,881.60 – 79,684.80/year

Summary:
The Director of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) serves as a strategic partner to the organization by executing a comprehensive and strategic framework to support Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion efforts and overall program design. Implements a full range of initiatives that support ongoing efforts to ensure organization-wide understanding, adoption, and adherence.
Under the day-to-day supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer (with a dotted line with the Chief Executive Officer), the Director of DEI operates with a high degree of confidentiality to fulfill the duties of the position.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Assists with Strategic Planning and provides agency support in all matter related to DEI.
- Develops and implements ongoing training for staff, interns, and volunteers to promote cultural understanding and competency along with a climate of equity and inclusion. Ensure all employees complete cultural competency training on at least an annual basis.
- Attend department meetings to provide DEI education and activities.
- Collaborate with the Chief HR Officer to develop initiatives to recruit and retain staff from underserved and new communities, create a culture of care and connectedness for people from all different backgrounds, as well as to address barriers to creating an equitable and inclusive work environment for potential staff and volunteers from diverse communities.
- Promotes commitment to diversity and a climate of equity and inclusion through interaction with the Board of Directors, employees, volunteers, and community leaders from all multivariant groups.
- Responsible for managing the CRMHS Equity Council and coordinating DEI activities and trainings to employees and supervisors. Coach and mentor members of the Equity Council.
- Creates flyers and other informational material for staff and clients relating to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at CRMHS.
- Outreach to and maintain relationships with community partners. Attends community DEI events as a representative of CRMHS.
- Conducts an annual CRMHS Equity Survey and synthesis results to be reviewed by the agency.
- Work with the Compliance Department to review all internal forms (including Policies and Procedures) with a focus on equity.
- Work with Marketing Team to ensure DEI inclusivity in marketing materials.
- Review program and services provided by CRMHS to ensure DEI inclusivity.
- Participate in Executive Leadership Team meetings, Directors meetings, managers meetings, and periodic Board meetings.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
- Supports Agency mission, goals and objectives.
- Maintain communication and cooperative working relationships both within the agency and the community at large.
- Attend staff and planning meetings as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Licensing and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in human resources, health administration, public administration or related field preferred.
- A certificate in Diversity and Inclusion preferred.
- Experience working in the non-profit sector.
- Knowledge about workplace diversity, equity and inclusion strategic thinking and best practices.
- High cultural competency & humility and the ability to train others to become more culturally competent.
