POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will serve as a key member of the Association team, performing development and volunteer management functions. Duties include leading our Annual Support Campaign, directing all year-end giving strategies and managing our donor database. This position will also be responsible for planning and executing Association-wide events including but not limited to our Annual Support Campaign events and Board and major donor cultivation events. In addition, this position will perform general administrative tasks in the YMCA Association Office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Development
- Coordinates Associations Annual Support Campaign, implementing strategies to increase the level of involvement at each of the branches.
- Leads all Association events with the support of our Marketing and Events Director, including but not limited to our Gala, Golf Tournament, Annual Support Campaign events, CA Strong events, major donor and volunteer recognition events, and more.
- Oversees all CA Strong distributions.
- Manages the implementation and utilization of an Association-wide donor database.
- Assists with all digital and direct-mail fundraising campaigns.
- Manages the donor database and prepares reports as needed.
- Secures all sponsors for Association events.
- Researches and prepares grant applications and reports.
- Prepares acknowledgement letters for all donors.
Board Management
- Maintains highly-confidential executive and Board files and correspondence.
- Creates, completes and distributes Board and meeting packets as scheduled, including preparing minutes for each meeting.
- Oversees the onboarding process for all new Board Members.
Volunteer Management
- Recruits and trains volunteers for Association events.
- Establishes procedures and trains staff to recruit, train and onboard all volunteers.
- Identifies needs across the Association to utilize volunteers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with and interact with a diverse group of people
- Experience managing a donor database
- Experience planning fundraising events netting $100k+
- Three or more years of related experience working as assistant to high level executive, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Experience with processing payroll and related accounting functions
- Knowledge of basic office procedures
- Ability to use common office productivity software such as word processing, spreadsheets and email
- Ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently
- Ability to listen and speak to answer telephones and respond to inquiries
- Ability to handle highly-sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, staff and volunteers using tact and diplomacy
