The Director of Child Care for the Pillars of Prospect Park leads the on-site Child Care Program as well as ensuring compliance of all local, state, and federal laws governing child care are adhered while crafting a meaningful intergenerational program for children and seniors. The Pillars of Prospect Park is conveniently located off the light rail transit station near the University of Minnesota campus in the heart of the Prospect Park neighborhood. This vibrant community features 133 Independent living, 106 assisted living and 44 memory care apartments housed in two buildings, one six-story and one ten-story. The community will also has an on-site Intergenerational Child Care Center. Our residents and childcare children get to interact and form outstanding relationships.
Responsibilities/Job Description
- Exercises supervisory responsibilities and ability to lead all aspects of the program elements and provide direct care when needed
- Facilities Management (facility compliance requirements, coordinates with the Chef and kitchen to ensure DHS compliance)
- Supervises the maintenance of the facility and grounds and provides direction to appropriate staff and/or vendors as vital
- Ensures the facility is in compliance with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations
- Supervises Child Care staff and volunteers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Minimum 1-3 years experience, 3-5 years preferred
- Experience with intergenerational programming a plus
