The Director of Business Development sits within Skybound Entertainment where we are launching digital content, video games, board games, collectibles, and merchandise for diehard fans, community, and loyal customers.

The Director of Business Development will affect growth by scaling partnerships for the Skybound video network, audio network, and our creator distribution channels. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, a native in the social and digital content space, and ready to ramp with existing relationships spanning influencers, agencies, and brands. Near-term goals will focus on influencer collaborations and brand partnerships toward measurable audience growth and revenue sponsorships. Long-term goals provide an opportunity to involve video games, board games, and direct-to-consumer merch/collectibles.

Reports: This position will report to the SVP, Audience Networks

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the pipeline and lead all meetings and activities to acquire content for respective Skybound ad-supported audio and video network
  • Create and secure revenue partnerships with advertisers, creators, programming brands, and studios (e.g. B2B sponsorships, agency services, D2C merch)
  • Discover, develop relationships, and work with influencers in the following ways:
  • Secure collaborations with influencers to scale our network audience
  • Form influencer partnerships under the Skybound umbrella to expand the Skybound Network
  • Lead business develop efforts with influencers and media companies to scale audience
  • Lead tentpole sponsorship pitches with advertising agencies and studios to scale revenue
  • Research, identify and provide innovative commercial opportunities to build long-term momentum for the new IP?
  • Ideate, pitch, and formalize partnerships internally across execs, finance, and legal teams
  • Create pitch materials for individual and team pitches to support business development needs
  • Develop breakthrough partnership programs applicable to all channels and markets
  • Recommend strategies to position brands (e.g. Schmoedown and Attack Peter) for growth
Requirements:


  • 5+ years of experience launching & scaling consumer brands or digital creator brands
  • 5+ years in an influencer/digital talent agency forming partnerships on behalf of influencers
  • Substantive experience with deal making to jumpstart audience and monetization
  • Understanding of metrics and pricing models (i.e. CPMs, CPVs, Followers, Views, Impressions)
  • Manage cross-functional processes effectively to create, close, and onboard partnerships
  • Familiar with Modern Game Media and Marketing: Influencers, video content, custom editorial and more
  • Experience or familiarity with interactive trivia shows and games is a plus
