Ashfield Engage has partnered with a leading Global Biotechnology company to hire Medical Director in the transplant therapeutic area.
The Director, Medical Affairs (Transplant) will be responsible to develop and implement global medical strategies for assigned transplant products and represent GCD Medical Affairs in various projects. Director, Medical Affairs (Transplant) will also lead scientific interactions with the medical community, coordinate therapeutic area publication activities and provide medical support to commercial development. Director, Medical Affairs (Transplant) will have a prioritized focus on driving the strategy, design, and execution of Medical Affairs programs for transplant therapeutic area.

What will you be doing?
- Responsible for development and implementation of global medical strategies that support worldwide commercialization for assigned products in the Transplant therapeutic area.
- Based on an excellent understanding of the comprehensive science of solid organ transplant and hematopoietic stem cell transplant, incumbent will take a leadership role in definition of medical strategies for new products, life cycle management, and/or assessment of strategic business development opportunities.
- Represent GCD Medical Affairs in various projects during their implementation.
- This role will also lead scientific interactions with the medical community, coordinate publication activities and provide medical support to commercial development as well as to country organizations.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with local regional expertise for specific geographic areas is needed.
- Review, revise, and implement SOPs for the Transplant Medical Affairs team to ensure full alignment and smooth operations in Business Unit
What do you need for this position?
- MD with at least 5 years of pharma industry experience
- GVHD and solid organ transplant background
- Clinical trial background is preferred
- 5+ years in MSL leadership/supervisory management experience Broad Medical Affairs experience preferred to provide oversight of functions and serve as bridge between US and global teams
- US based experience preferred
- Understanding of clinical trials
- Strong business acumen vision and perspective
- Ability to participate as a subject matter expert on teams and to work collaboratively with others with or without authority
- Ability to handle multiple demands in a fast-paced environment and to interact within the context of multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent written and oral communication and superior presentation skill’s with strong analytical ability
- Ability to interact and communicate with the highest degree of professionalism and scientific credibility with external scientific leaders
- High level of initiative and independence is a must
- Travel will be required up to 50%, including major national conferences, advisory boards, interaction with scientific leaders and organizations, as well as annual national company meetings and departmental training sessions
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Must live near a major airport in the United States
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
