IT Director, Shared Services – Job Description
The IT Shared Services director is responsible for enterprise quality engineering with end-to-end regression/integration testing, performance testing, automation standards and tools, and enterprise release management with agile methodologies. Additionally, the leader will collaborate with peer development leaders to determine and initiate other shared activities as needed to achieve product delivery excellence. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the technology agile operating model is delivering and collaborating on all aspects of product development. The individual will provide leadership to transform the Shared Services department to champion quality for all products deployed to production and be the vocal advocate of the customer. Focus on “high quality AND feature-rich releases” is job one. Finally, this leader is adept at driving cross-functional activities and identifying gaps with new processes/standards across product teams to solve complex problems involving multiple functions to resolution. Job Responsibilities:
- Be an example for our people by demonstrating Medical Solutions’ Core Values in everything you do
- Develop and drive a detailed strategy for IT shared services processes in support of Business, IT, and product roadmap initiatives
- Establish a Community of Practices (CoP) for enterprise quality assurance, release management, and automation.
- Partner and assist in driving a detailed continuous integration & delivery strategy across the enterprise in support of Business and IT roadmap initiatives
- Take ownership of the non-production environments and partner with product and infrastructure teams to ensure these environments are well-cared for to enable product delivery excellence.
- Become the trusted partner for Enterprise Architecture, Application Services, Program/Portfolio Management, Technology Services and Operations, Data Services, and Business Unit leaders to collaborate on work to identify and implement an effective combination of standards, and governance, and to ensure product quality throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Create and drive an organizational culture of continuous capability development and efficiency
- Ensure that processes are aligned with the overall enterprise IT strategy and positioned for current and future success
- Manage intake of the proposed process and standard changes from across the product teams and organization to ensure delivery excellence
- Add validated changes to process improvement backlogs and maintain the backlog
- Share backlog with respective Process SMEs to inform prioritization and implementation of process refinement/changes
- Collaborate across Process SMEs, as needed, to ensure overall process workflows are optimally designed for delivery excellence
- Facilitate resolution of conflicts among key stakeholders (e.g., Portfolio Lead, Product Owner) and serve as an escalation point for process SMEs
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10+ years of prior and relevant product development experience required
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise release management and quality engineering / assurance leadership / management roles – specifically in a fast-paced product development model
- Experience in Software as a Service (SaaS) environment is preferred
- Adept experience operating in an agile operating model is a must
- Able to foster and build a collaborative working relationship with various stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
