Summary:

The Director, Accounting (Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix) position is responsible for leading the day-to-day functions of the finance and accounting operations of the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix. All roles and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to financial close oversight, financial statement preparation, cash position analysis, and team growth and development.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of close processes including reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, performing variance analysis, and distributing monthly reporting to department heads
  • Prepare financial statements for executive management, external auditors, and bank reporting
  • Provide periodic cash flow and cash position analysis
  • Key contributor to the development and administration of financial policies related to areas including expenses, capital expenditures, and cash management
  • Support and promote internal control standards to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Collaborate on sales and use tax returns, IRS 1099s, and other compliance reporting
  • Develop and manage finance team while collaborating with Payroll, AP, and AR
  • Identifying areas for improvement and implementing improvements to processes
  • Willing to work on other ad hoc projects and analyses as required


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Must demonstrate a clear understanding and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • CPA preferred
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Superb leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends
  • Meticulous, ambitious, organized, team player
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 ERP systems a plus
  • Strong Work Ethic – Self-directed and purposeful; Available to work extended hours as required
  • Analytical Person – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills – Listens to others; Works well in a team environment
  • Strong Computer Skills – Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs with advanced strength in Excel
