Director Environmental Services

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is a 139-licensed bed, general acute care hospital. Our services include the latest, state-of-the-art medical technology and equipment, well-respected area physicians, and an upscale five-star hotel-like ambiance. Designed with patients and physicians in mind, HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress aims to be the hospital of choice for the northwest corridor.

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What you will do in this role:

• Provides team leadership by ensuring cohesiveness within the unit and with Senior Administration
• Oversee expenditures to control the Environmental Services Department Financials
• Directs daily housekeeping and custodial service operations in order to provide quality services to the Patients, Guests and all Employees
• Maintain and implement sanitary and safety conditions and training to adhere to auditing procedures and statutory regulations
• Establishes and maintains a proactive human resource function to ensure employee motivation, training and development, wage/benefit administration and compliance with established labor regulations
• Develops a business plan for Senior Administration that establishes a rapport, promotes partnership and fulfills Senior Administration's needs and exceeds their expectations
• Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives
• Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate.
• Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards.
• Establishes a safe work environment for employees by performing safety audits and inspections, conducting safety-related training, and maintaining on-going communications with employees.
• Reviews financial statements to ensure performance is in accordance with business strategic initiatives set by Administration
• Monitor and enforce Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement standards
• Inform Management/Administration of positive and negative happenings
• Plans projects, including defining objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support Company strategic plan.
• Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining highest level of delivery.
• Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives
• And other duties as assigned by Administration

Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 to 4 years of management experience or an Associate's degree plus the equivalent of 6 years' management experience or 8 to 10 year's management experience with increasing degrees of responsibility attained.
