Job Summary:


Disney Streaming is looking for a Director of Brand Strategy to provide thought leadership, insights and strategy on brand development and consumer sentiment, needs and behaviors in the entertainment and streaming space. As a critical part of the Disney+ Marketing Strategy team, Brand Strategy leads efforts to develop new opportunities of growth and engagement for the Disney+ brand and its audiences.


Reporting to the VP, Marketing Strategy, the role will identify and initiate early development of growth opportunities and challenges, and in partnership with Campaign Strategy and Strategic Planning teams within Marketing Strategy, as well as cross-channel marketing leads, develop immediate campaign strategies to guide actionable marketing efforts. They will partner with Consumer Insights, Data and Business Operations and CP&A to articulate and measure impact of marketing and engagement activities. Additionally, they will lead the development of the global Disney+ brand, and, in partnership with Creative Marketing, create guides to empower brand stewards across the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

Lead projects including brand insights studies and audience strategy development

Lead development of brand and engagement analysis work (such as brand strength trajectory with a given audience or cohort): collaborating on cross-discipline analysis teams, to shape marketing analytics framework for awareness and engagement efforts.

Conduct analysis (leveraging available data and analytics) that identify growth and engagement opportunities/issues to make actionable recommendations

Develop thought leadership on brand and audience segments, with specific focus on areas of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in a marketing role and/or similar function leading high-priority Brand projects with multiple key stakeholders and direct report(s).

  • Strong leadership skills, experience leading teams and inspiring others

  • Exceptional analytical skills

  • Ability to draw business insights from data and interpret real world application

  • Exceptional project management skills and ability to execute quality work with tight deadlines

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Executive presence, maturity and enthusiasm

  • Expertise in slide creation (PowerPoint/Keynote) and in database analysis (SPSS, Excel)

  • Industry-relevant experience, as defined by one or more of the following:

    • Strategic or Management Consulting at a top-tier management consulting firm

    • Strategy and Business Development in media, technology or consumer packaged goods

    • Brand management or marketing in consumer-focused company (not B2B)

  • Professional experience in field of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally minimum of 6 years post MBA

  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research, financials, or brand management

  • Understanding of marketing landscape, particularly in the streaming space

  • Experience working with highly matrixed marketing organizations

  • High degree of competency around marketing strategy, campaign planning and management

  • Management of small teams in the marketing space


Required Education

  • Minimum BA or BS degree


Preferred Education

  • MBA or equivalent
