Upper Valley Services is one of Vermont’s Designated non-profit agencies serving people who are developmentally disabled, people who are eligible for Adult Family Home placement under Vermont’s Choices for Care program, and people eligible for services under Vermont’s Traumatic Brain Injury program.
UVS in Moretown is looking for Direct Support Specialists to support the following individuals:
Active young man needs assistance in developing his life and job skills. This individual loves to swim, walk, go bowling and cook. He is looking for a lively peer support staff to help him stay motivated, focused and involved in his community of Central Vermont.
Independent female in need of a community companion to provide support and transportation so that she can access the things so loves to do. She requires assistance in developing new interests and activities. She also requires support in running errands, shopping, and pursuing her arts and crafting interests.
Support a peer in their community and enrich someone’s life. You will spend your time being active outdoors, taking long walks and going for hikes, visiting the gym, going bowling and assisting individuals in finding new interests and opportunities to explore.
Assist a fun and engaging young woman that needs guidance and support in gaining skills, habits, and making progress in necessary home tasks. Such skills will include helping to make simple dishes for dinner, setting the table for dinner, doing her own laundry, cleaning her room, making her bed, and generally tidying up. Spend time in the community doing activities she enjoys and help support her 2 hours per day in her employment setting as a job coach.
Applicants will receive a criminal background check, and must have a valid driver's license and car insurance, have reliable transportation, and have a clean driving record.
A $500 hiring bonus will be offered to the selected candidate.
