Job Overview

At Self Help, the Direct Support Professionals provide supervision, care and engage with a small group of individuals with disabilities. They work independently and as a team to ensure that the needs of all the individuals are being met. DSPs help by teaching skills, engaging in meaningful activities and promoting self-advocacy and choices through role modeling and instruction. They work as a team to think creatively to problem solve. DSPs help create a safe and enriched environment where people with disabilities are free to experience, grow, and have opportunities to gain an increased sense of self worth and purpose.

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Criminal background clearance
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) trained (preferred)
• First Aid/CPR trained (provided through agency)
• Experience working with persons with Developmental disabilities (2 years preferred)
• Able to perform moderate physical tasks
• Must be able to drive bus
• Dependable transportation

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
