Goldie Floberg Center is hiring Direct Support Professionals to work in group homes assisting adults and children with disabilities live their most independent and meaningful life.
The DSP position is responsible for working with people with disabilities in their homes to help them achieve their personal goals and create and maintain a fulfilling life. Perform life skills training with persons served that lead to the development of greater independence using established behavioral principles and techniques.
We provide PAID training at our main office in Rockton, IL @ $17.00 per hour M-F 8:30am-4pm to become a certified DSP. Overtime is always available and is paid out at time and a half after 40 hours are worked in a Monday - Sunday work week.Advancement Opportunities are available as well!
Shifts:
Full-time 2nd shift (2p-11p)
Full-Time 3rd shift (11p-9a)
Full-Time Weekend Warrior (Fri. 3p-11p, Sat. 7a-11p, Sun. 7a-11p)
Part Time Shifts (mostly 2nds, 3rds, & weekend shifts)
Salary Range: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Job Duties:
Tracking and following person’s individual meal plan while preparing meals
Maintaining a clean home by performing daily cleaning duties, deep cleaning, and ensuring everything in the homes stays neat and organized
Assisting individuals with hygiene tasks such as bathing, using the restroom, changing diapers, brushing teeth and hair, etc.
Counting, documenting and passing medications while monitoring the health of individuals
Providing safe transportation to individuals, taking them to doctor appointments, the grocery store, and any other activity out in the community
Monitoring individuals and documenting all necessary information, then verbally relaying information to the next staff scheduled
Prevent, minimize and manage behavioral challenges, implementing authorized strategies learned in DSP training to ensure the safety of all individuals in the home
Any other daily duties needed or assigned
A DSP may work with individuals with aggressive behaviors and/or significant care needs.
Job Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs and exert up to 100lbs of force
Have proof of high school education or equivalent
Have reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a background check (you will be sent for fingerprints and a physical upon hire)
