YWCA Princeton is on a mission to eliminate racism and empower women. Through our YW Strive digital skills class, we aim to get more women and people of color in high-paying careers. We are seeking an outgoing energetic team player to join our Advocacy department as an instructor. Hours and location of classes to vary.

Position Summary
YWCA Princeton is hiring a part time digital skills instructor to teach classes up to 15 students on computer literacy and workforce development skills. This instructor would lead 8-week cohorts through the Google suite and job coaching.

All YWCA Princeton employees must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and follow any other Covid-19 protocols.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach 4 – 10 in-person students at a time on computer skills
  • Implement and adjust curriculum based on participants needs
  • Instruct participants on web-based platforms and computer hardware
  • Effectively and appropriately differentiate instruction to meet all students’ learning styles with an appreciation for students’ learning differences
  • Select and sequence appropriate materials, resources, and approaches according to the course and audience of learners
  • Walk participants through the job application process
  • Conduct one-time job readiness classes as needed

Required Qualifications and skills

  • Advanced knowledge of google suite and cloud computing
  • Comfortability working within a diverse environment of active learners
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds
  • Excellent communication, writing, classroom management, and listening skills.
  • Strong public speaking capabilities
  • Ability to analyze situations objectively, accurately, and in an organized fashion
  • Good critical thinking skills to understand student issues and needs
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Enthusiasm and excitement in the classroom
  • Positive around student learning and outcomes
  • Project appropriate professional and positive image with students and staff
