Digital Media Strategist

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is searching for a savvy Social & Digital Media Strategist to drive FAIR’s mission and maintain high traffic across our social media channels and on our website. This position will also be responsible for developing and testing new digital marketing and direct response strategies and assisting with developing high-level digital campaigns.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Track, report, and interpret social media, Google analytics, and other site data to provide recommendations for new strategies and tactics to increase effective engagement
  • Publish content to FAIR’s social media platforms and our website
  • Review website and social accounts for areas that can be improved and optimized
  • Produce weekly/monthly reports tracking FAIR’s social media accounts and website with detailed suggestions for improvements to boost engagement
  • Identify powerful keywords and trending relevant hashtags to drive traffic
  • Develop, plan, and implement effective SEO strategies, develop link-building strategies
  • Assist with the management of digital ad campaigns and tracking their success
  • Use Google Analytics, Hotjar, and other available tools to identify trends and website traffic behavior; create website metric reports and offer solutions to improve retention
  • Oversee social media communities by identifying opportunities to interact with activists and nurture relationships through these platforms by engaging with followers
  • Obtain and edit images, tables, charts, and videos for use in website content
  • Assist with mass emails and tracking data to improve conversions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in social media management and SEO
  • Experience running/managing a professional organization’s social media platforms
  • Thorough understanding of Google Analytics, Ads, and traditional digital media KPIs required
  • Experience in keyword/keyphrase research, building keyword maps
  • Wide-range experience in digital marketing expertise
  • Deep understanding of content management systems and experience working with mid to large-size websites (1000+ pages/documents)
  • Proven experience in social media strategy and execution, including audience segmentation and content planning
  • Solid knowledge of HTML/CSS, a bonus
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

This position is at FAIR’s Washington, D.C. headquarters and reports to the Director of Video Production and Digital Marketing. It is a full-time, exempt position. FAIR offers generous benefits; the salary starts at $68,000.00.
