Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity in the Digital Engineering field supporting the Eglin Armament Division designing, developing and delivering weapons of increasing complexity and capabilities for expanded missions and domains. Their mission is to build upon a legacy of pioneering weapons that consistently outmatch the range, speed, precision and firepower of fielded enemy weapon systems, with the parameters of current platforms in mind. This role can be full-time or part-time.
Responsibilities:
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Lead transformation of the process of designing, developing and sustaining the military’s capabilities to be more agile, flexible and adaptive to threats, missions, and emerging technologies by “incorporating technological innovations into an integrated, digital, model-based approach”
- Construction of feasible system functional and physical architectures that represent a balanced approach to meeting stakeholder needs and expectations; stated, implied, and derived system requirements; cyber-resiliency objectives; and suitability objectives such as being open, modular, extensible, maintainable, and reusable
- Construction of solution-level systems models encompassing hardware, software, behavior, logistics/sustainment, as well as other relevant acquisition life cycle elements to include trade-space analysis, gap analysis, requirement management, and data query/discovery/exchange
- Structuring data sources for use in models and the transformation of prime contractor “technical data packages” for quick discovery
- Management of multidisciplinary teams in large complex projects in a faced-paced, dynamic environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Electrical/Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science)
- 8 Years of experience with DE tools (Cameo/MagicDraw, Sparx EA, SysML)
- Essential skills include complex problem solving, communication, attention to detail, leadership, analytical and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Electrical/Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Digital Engineering Management)
- 12 years of experience with these additional DE tools (MATLAB/Simulink, STK, scripting languages)
- Possess experience and understanding of modern engineering tools, methods, and practices through Digital Engineering (DE), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE, and Systems and Architecture design
- Possess a strong understanding of implementing a Digital Engineering Ecosystem / Environment within a DoD system
- Graduate of an academic certificate in Digital Engineering (DE) (creation of a digital threat of the authoritative source of data for all the technical and programmatic data in a project) / Model-Based Systems Engineering Certificate / DAU’s Digital Engineering for DoD Consumers Credential
- Experience in the various sub-disciplines of DE (Agile MBSE, Mathematical ModSim, Dynamic ModSim, AI/Machine Learning, 3D CAD, 3D Printing, Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality)
- Demonstration of in-depth understanding of the principles, technologies, and systems that fall within the purview of Eglin’s Armament Division and weapons acquisition
- Demonstration of in-depth understanding of DoD 5000.02 and the adaptive acquisition framework
- Top Secret/SCI Clearance
