Job scope:

· The Design/Manufacturing Engineer ensures design targets are achieved in a safe, timely, high quality, cost efficient and productive manner. Responsible for achievement of high quality, low cost, and on-time performance goals and development of advanced methods and techniques to increase productivity.

Core functions:

· Review and process all quote request, including new and existing jobs.

· Create new designs.

· Ensure the manufacturing of the part meets all Aerospace and customer requirements.

· Manage the process by which the part is costed and priced.

· Manage tooling repair shop, schedule and trouble shoot tooling issues.

· Update and record tooling design changes to master CAD documents.

· Design and review new tool orders, work with machine shop to quote and build tooling.

· Run forge simulation software to ensure tooling design will create first pass yield.

· Communicate and coordinate with fellow team members, in particular working closely with accounting, sales, operations, quality, outside processing and shipping.

· Work with operations and be responsive to production run or part quality issue which resonate from the tool/die design.

· Manages the Capital budget and delivers high profile/high value capital projects on-time, at/under budget, and produces auditable returns on the project. Capable of completing engineering design, program management, and working well with contractors, Maintenance and production employees and takes pride in troubleshooting engineering challenges.

· Troubleshoot Production quality defects and work with the Operations Manager to continuously improve operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

· Read, write, and speak in English.

· Read forging drawings.

· Aerospace manufacturing experience in a high-paced, mission critical environment

· Proficient in Epicor, E-10.

· Proficient in CATIA, Solid Works, AUTOCAD, FORGE, and Supplier portals.

· Thinks and articulates strategically with a focus on long-term progression and committed to growing the value of the enterprise.

· Familiarity with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance.

· Demonstrated ability to develop, relentlessly execute and deliver results in conformance with action plans.

· Demonstrated ability to forward-face effectively with customers, prepare customer presentations, present persuasively and close deals in coordination with the President.

· Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement ability.

· Has the ability to think at a high level and create robust, sophisticated solutions which encompass highest value/lowest risk propositions which creates value for the organization. Evaluates both inputs and outputs when creating solutions and recommendations.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelors’ degree (from an accredited institution) -Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent. Masters degree preferred.

· Excellent CAD skills- AutoCAD, Inventor, Catia.

· Proficient with Microsoft office products including Word, PowerPoint & Excel.

· Knowledge of NADCAP, AS9100, ISO9001

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
