What you’ll do:
C-A-L Ranch Stores is currently seeking qualified candidates for Department Specialist roles in Sporting Goods, Agricultural/Pet, Hardlines, and Clothing departments for our new store location in Tucson, AZ.
The Department Specialists lead, train, coach, and develop associates in their respective departments to ensure customers receive excellent customer service and can easily find anything they need. Additionally, the Department Specialist provides valuable input into operational and merchandising decisions to the Store Management Team. Department Specialists are expected to maintain strong product, operational, and merchandising knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Assists store management with general supervision in assigned department.
- Maintains CAL Ranch Store merchandising standards throughout the department.
- Ensures the department is kept clean, neat, and organized at all times.
- Assists employees by providing direction and leadership, demonstrating and preforming sales associate tasks and answering employee questions.
- Acts as a mentor and coach to all new associates in assigned department.
- Promotes company programs such as loyalty, credit card, and seasonal promotions.
- Provides advanced knowledge of merchandise to customers, explaining features and differences between merchandise and providing purchasing advice to customers.
- Troubleshoots and provides solutions for customer complaints, escalating to management when necessary.
- Acts as a key carrier, opening and closing the store as needed.
- Counts tills and ensures proper balancing of cash drawers, troubleshooting errors and providing solutions for over and shorts.
- Identifies and informs management of ways to improve operations and merchandising within the store.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years’ experience in retail sales environment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to learn and operate POS system.
- Maintains friendly and welcoming demeanor.
- Possesses persuasive skills necessary to help close sales and promote items.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and patient when working with upset of dissatisfied customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
