Job Title: Dental Receptionist/Assistant
Job Summary: A Dental Receptionist/Assistant is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and assisting dental professionals with various tasks. They play a critical role in maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for patients while also supporting the efficient operation of the dental office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment book to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
- Confirm appointments with patients and notify them of any changes.
- Maintain patient records, including personal information, medical history, and treatment plans.
- Answer phone calls and respond to emails, handling patient inquiries and directing them to the appropriate dental professional as necessary.
- Manage patient billing and insurance claims, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Assist dental professionals with various tasks, such as preparing equipment and materials, taking X-rays, and providing patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area and assist with general office tasks as needed.
- Follow all office policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred previous experience in a dental office or related healthcare setting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes.
- Basic computer skills
Working Conditions: A Dental Receptionist/Assistant typically works in a dental office or clinic, often in close proximity to dental professionals and patients. They may be required to stand or sit for extended periods and may be exposed to various medical and dental materials and instruments.
