Columbia Oral & Facial Surgery Center is seeking a highly-motivated, upbeat, and caring professional for a full-time position as an oral surgery assistant.

Qualifications:

• At least High School Diploma or GED, REQUIRED;
• Maryland Dental Radiation Technologist Certificate (active or in process of taking course and exam), REQUIRED;
• BLS certificate, REQUIRED;
• HIPAA training, Preferred;
• Infection control with OSHA training, Preferred;
• Must be highly detail oriented, efficient, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, customer service focus, but also work well under pressure;
• Knowledge of insurance and billing practices helpful;
• Some dental and or medical knowledge is helpful

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare patients
• Prepare trays for procedures
• Give pre and post-procedure instructions
• Assist with examinations and procedures
• Obtain X-rays
• Sterilize instruments
• Clean surgical rooms, equipment, and office
• Stock rooms
• Maintain and manage patient records in compliance with PCI and HIPAA standards
• Answer phones
• Schedule patients
• Verify insurance benefits
• Perform general office duties and other duties as required

Salary: Contingent upon experience

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Experience:

• Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
• BLS Certification (Preferred)
