We have Full-Time, Part-Time, Float, and Fill openings for Dental Hygienists at several of our Madison locations. Signing bonus up to $5,000!

What will your role be in the DHA family?
As a Dental Hygienist you would interact with patients and provide dental education while working collaboratively with the dental team to make quality patient care a priority and meet the oral health needs of the patients.
Essential Functions
1. Handle patient records and employee issues confidentially, following HIPAA guidelines.
2. Perform prophylaxis on adult and child patients with dentist checking work, subgingivally removing plaque and calculus, deep scaling when needed.
3. Set up and prepare room according to OSHA standards; clean up and sterilize after patient procedures are completed.
4. Provide fluoride treatment under supervision of dentist.
5. Perform radiographs as a diagnostic tool, at a high level of consistent diagnostic quality.
6. Perform intra oral and extra oral exams and report finding to dentist; perform initial medical history review.
7. Provide patient dental care education.
8. Perform charting as needed.
9. Demonstrate oral hygiene including all brushing, flossing, and irrigation.
10. Review charts a day in advance for updates and work needed, mark charts and communicate with the front desk.
11. Interview patients and update health histories prior to treatment.
12. Make accurate computer entries for charges, scheduling, treatment, patient information changes and verification of information between chart and computer record.
13. Coordinate schedule changes with patient coordinators.
14. Perform proper sterilization meeting OSHA standards for patient and employee safety.
15. Practice recommended safeguards for personal and patient safety.
Equipment Used
Hand pieces, surgical instruments, intra oral camera and internet based dental software.
Job Specifications
1. Graduate of accredited school, current state license with state and national board exams passed.
2. Previous experience as a registered dental hygienist is desired.
3. Ability to operate computer, x-ray equipment, hand piece, hand instruments, ultrasonic cleaner, polishers and other equipment as needed.
4. Good oral and written communication skills.
5. Basic computer skills and the ability to use computer software
6. Good time management skills.
7. Must be able to concentrate and maintain a close attention to detail using visual and tactile senses.
8. Ability to multitask is required.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
10. Ability to keep a positive, calm attitude in stressful situations.
11. Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
