Demand Planning Manager

Location: East Boston, MA (in the Boston Harbor Shipyard)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Hybrid (1-2 days/week in office) with flexible hours

The Demand Planning Manager is an essential role on the rapidly growing team at Downeast Cider, the #1 craft hard cider brand in the Northeast and #2 hard cider in the country. Your mission will be to manage the S&OP process to accurately forecast demand as a key business lever to drive profits, plan operationally, and build annual financial plans.

You will have the opportunity to grow vertically in this role as we continue to grow in size and complexity. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that our organization meets future demand for our products to continue operating as efficiently and effectively as possible, but development towards a management-level position is available. There’s also opportunity to grow laterally to other cross-functional teams, like supply or finance.

What you’ll do:

• Accurately forecast demand of our SKUs on a rolling weekly basis, often building a bottoms-up forecast by wholesaler, using historical data and qualitative information collected from cross functional teams
• Collaborate with supply to build an accurate constrained forecast (>89% MAPE) on a rolling basis to limit Out of Stock and Out of Code
• Project volume at a higher level 1-3 years out to aid in strategic planning and financial forecasting
• Work hand-in-hand with the marketing department to build innovation forecast for future launches
• Help with ad hoc requests from supply in terms of Out of Stocks, Out of Code, and allocation
• Monitor wholesaler inventory of our limited SKU line-up to maximize volume sold
• Support continuous improvement projects to drive process standardization and efficiency improvement
• Review and own key performance indicators, find and execute opportunities to improve performance

Who you are:

• 2-5 years of experience managing demand planning in CPG, ideally with fast-moving consumer goods
• Experience managing or being a large contributor to an S&OP process
• Accustomed to gathering and synthesizing information from cross-functional teams to better predict demand
• Excellent skills in utilizing data sources to properly influence forecast

• Experienced within the food, beverage or manufacturing industry
• Familiar with ForecastX, excel plug-in, VIP, Idig
