Virginia MetalFab is looking for a motivated and energetic individual to fill the role of Delivery Driver.

WHO YOU ARE IN THIS ROLE

As a Delivery Driver you will be a part of an AWESOME team and will be responsible for driving a vehicle, such as a truck or van with up to a 40’ trailer, within the state of Virginia and across state lines. Little to no overnight travel will be required. You will primarily deliver or pick up merchandise or deliver products.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Ability to operate vehicles effectively and efficiently.
• Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Effectively and safely harness and unharness the load.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
• Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
• Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.

SHIFT

Monday – Thursday: 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

• 
  HS diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years driving experience, preferred.
• CDL, preferred.
• Ability to follow electronic directions, operate GPS system.
• Medical Card
• Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
• Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
• Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.

• Reading Comprehension- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
• Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Time Management- Managing one’s own time and the time of others.
