Description
Manages the maintenance and building services function within the distribution center in accordance with company policies and procedures.
1. Responsible for the interviewing, hiring and supervision of Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Planner, and Maintenance Technicians. Provides training, sets performance goals and provides evaluative feedback to all direct reports.
2. Directs all preventative maintenance, repair and building services activities for a multi-shift distribution operation.
3. Plans and organizes work assignments. Ensures budgetary compliance by monitoring maintenance-related expenses.
4. Prepares and conducts performance appraisals for Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Planner.
5. Initiates, conducts and seeks appropriate approvals involving disciplinary action up to and including terminations of all D&TS associates within assigned area.
6. Ensures maintenance-level compliance with key company standards of safety, facility maintenance, postings/notifications and other administrative duties.
7. Manages communications between external vendors and contractors regarding proposed contracted work, job bids, job status and parts equipment availability.
8. Takes proactive role in establishing and carrying out shrinkage control disciplines and programs and accepts high level of responsibility for distribution center's shrinkage performance.
9. Performs all managerial responsibilities concerning Human Resources policies and wage administration including KRONOS payroll processing.
10. Uses discretion and independent judgment while maintaining the integrity of our Mission, Vision and Values statement in making all business decisions.
Qualification
1. Five to seven years experience in a management capacity within a Distribution Center, Warehouse or Industrial Facility strongly preferred.
2. A thorough knowledge of industrial maintenance is required.
3. Previous Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) knowledge preferred.
4. Demonstrated leadership ability is required.
5. Two years of a technical school or four-year apprenticeship would be preferred. 6. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical AC/DC electrical circuitry, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, conveyor and forklift maintenance is required.
7. Ability to perform physical activity at a sustained pace including walking, bending and lifting within a Distribution Center environment required.
