Job description
Description: We are looking for a database architect to support our battery testing efforts. The
goal of this position is to maintain and expand our existing data pipeline which includes
acquisition, processing and storage of large volumes of test data on a remote server. This role
requires high degree of autonomy and leadership skills, ideally with end-to-end, hands-on
experience managing similar projects.
Core Requirements:
⁃ Databases - demonstrated experience of developing and maintaining databases and
data pipelines, creating robust and scalable systems. Please prepare to discuss specific
projects where you created and owned full data pipelines.
⁃ Programming - extensive experience with programming, especially SQL and Python,
Matlab would be a plus.
⁃ Cloud-Based tools - experience with cloud-based architectures, in particular experience
deploying and maintaining databases on AWS
⁃ Data structures - familiarity with data structures, demonstrated experience processing
large volumes of data, handling different file types and automation of analysis processes.
⁃ Data visualization - experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
Good to have:
⁃ Understanding battery testing - demonstrated experience testing batteries using battery
cyclers/testers such as Maccor, analyzing raw test data produced by these testers to
characterize cells.
⁃ Understanding lithium-ion batteries - familiarity with basic concepts related to lithium-ion
batteries, such as C-rate, capacity, DCIR would be a plus.
Communication skills:
⁃ Cross team communication - ability to communicate and coordinate activities across
multiple teams, generate rapport and establish concurrence.
⁃ Integrity - commitment to present true and accurate data, even if they are not leading to
expected or clear conclusions.
⁃ Leadership - ability to own, direct, plan and execute projects with little external support.
Ability to work productively in an environment with high degree of autonomy, delivering
specific results on time and consistently.
