Company Intro: Ocean Health Initiatives, Inc. (OHI) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing quality, accessible and comprehensive primary health care to the residents of Ocean and Monmouth County; regardless of economic status.
Our Health Center Locations: Brick, Freehold, Lakewood, Little Egg Harbor, Manahawkin, Manchester and Toms River; with our school-based Wellness Programs located within the Clifton Ave Grade School, Lakewood; and Lakewood High School.
OHI services include family and internal medicine, pediatrics, behavioral health, nutrition, OB/GYN women’s health, dental, family planning, specialty care, pharmacies, PrEP, and a STI clinic.
Hours: Full-time hours are M-F 8:00am- 4:30pm
Position Summary
Reporting to the VP of Information Technology, the data analyst conducts analysis and development of quantitative and qualitative databases and metrics. The Data Analyst’s responsibilities may include presenting data in charts, graphs and tables as well as designing and developing relational databases for collecting data. This position will develop and analyze reporting capabilities, and continuously monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. The data analyst will be a catalyst and team player to advance OHI’s continuous quality improvement (CQI) plan and enhance capabilities to measure, interpret, and report business and clinical performance and identify new opportunities for improvement and revenue streams.
Responsibilities
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Use graphs, infographics, and other visualizations to quickly and easily convey important data to management.
- Work with the quality team to identify key reporting metrics, and current database sources.
- Assess the status of existing reporting capabilities and work with teams on go forward solutions.
- Develop and implement data collection systems and workflows that optimize statistical efficiency, data quality which will support the organizations quality and performance program.
- Interface and engage all functional departments (clinical, finance, operations, etc.) within the organization in the development of analytic models and reporting.
- Develop and maintain reporting capabilities that will help manage, track, and control the clinical quality of a given population set.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
- Acquire knowledge of HEDIS, UDS, DOH LOA, Wrap-Around reporting needs and develop reports for required submissions.
- Promote the importance of information and infrastructure security across the system.
- Prepares ad-hoc reports for Senior Management to assist in budget planning, grant applications and strategic planning.
- Creates, implements, and monitors reports for OHI’s Quality Improvement Activities
- Maintains up to date knowledge of computer systems including database management.
- Writes and maintains standard operating procedures.
- Ensures departmental participation in CQI.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Filter and “clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems, maintaining highest standards of data integrity and quality throughout the department's data collection-to-reporting pipeline.
- Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
- Ensure effective communication and engagement with senior executive staff to enable their full participation and ownership of the program.
- Works collaboratively with all members of the Senior Management and Management Teams to function as a cohesive and professional unit.
- Works collaboratively with all members of the Senior Management and Management Teams to resolve departmental and organizational challenges expeditiously, economically, professionally and with minimum disruption to the practice.
- Constantly strives to achieve excellence in day-to-day operations of respective department.
- Ensures compliance with Ocean Health Initiatives employee handbook.
- Attends all mandatory in-services and meetings required by administration.
- Adheres to Corporate Compliance policies.
- Is highly accountable for one's own productivity. In order to maintain transparency, all projects must be represented clearly on a project board in Monday.com. Responsible for ensuring the board is always updated and accurate and that information is accessible to those that need it.
- Maintains a passing monthly scorecard threshold at 80%.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Licensure
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics is required.
- One to three years of experience as a data analyst preferably in a healthcare setting is required.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques is required.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or Python), and visualization (PowerBI, Tableu) is required.
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.) is required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required.
