KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitors, updates, and tunes database performance to meet performance objectives
- Ensures database integrity, stability and availability, and implements the physical design of the database
- Participates in management and user committees in setting performance objectives
- Creates standards for database utilization and defined SOPs
- Maintains strong vendor relationships to keep apprised of new database products, versions, and releases
- Participates in the evaluation, recommendation, and installation of new versions, releases and database tools
- Works with application developers and other departments within the organization to evaluate database requirements for application software packages under consideration
- Works with programmers to tune data access code
- Works on multiple high priority projects concurrently
- Maintains and enhances technical skills through formal and on-the-job training
- Designs and develops points of integration and interface to other applications
- Develops a general understanding of technology infrastructures
- Maintains cloud-based and on-premises databases and servers
- Helps design and maintain good data warehouse and business intelligence and analytics databases
- Responds to and assists with other problem tickets as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a DBA role in a corporate environment
- Microsoft SQL Server releases 2008 through 2016 and newer.
- Strong experience with SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, T-SQL, stored procedures, views, indexing, database tuning, and maintenance jobs
- Microsoft SQL Server releases 2008 through 2016 and newer.
- Experience with SSMS, Visual Studio, or other database and coding IDEs
- Experience with developing and maintaining ETL jobs for data integration
- Basic understanding of various data architectures and schemas including 2nd and 3rd normal forms as well as star and snowflake schemas, and how to create these in a data warehousing environment
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- MS Database certification
- Familiarity with Power BI and general business intelligence reporting
- Strong knowledge of logical design and physical implementation
- Experience one or more programming languages preferred
- Familiarity with Dev Ops and Team Foundation Server and GIT for code version control
- Familiarity with Azure and Azure SQL Databases
- Familiarity with SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint Online as well as general experience and understanding of Office 365

- Ability to be on-call and to be able to perform weekend server updates

- String interpersonal skills to work with end users, management, and the IT team
