Job Description: Avram Corporation, Inc., is hiring a Public Health Advisor to support the Polio Eradication Branch (PEB) in the Global Immunization Division (GID) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position will be located in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide technical advice to CDC’s Strategic Information and Workforce Development (SIWD) Branch of the Global Immunization Division (GID) regarding the training and fieldwork of National Stop Transmission of Polio (NSTOP), and Stop Transmission of Polio (STOP) teams. Example: Develop training materials and courses to train polio staff on enhancing the overall immunization surveillance system. Conduct refresher training for national immunization staff.
- Provide technical advice to the Polio Eradication Branch management regarding data collection activities in operational research, including integration projects in polio-endemic countries and countries with the transmission of polio, in order to assist with the analysis of the data collection and surveillance efforts during SIAs and routine immunization activities in the country.
- Participate with Polio Eradication Branch team leads in the development and implementation of field project plans addressing routine immunization, data quality or surveillance, outbreak investigation, and vaccination campaigns. Use historical polio data to improve outreach activities. Example: Use data on hesitant households/communities to develop and improve microplanning activities. Develop strategies to integrate polio surveillance with VPD surveillance. Engage with community service organizations to improve outreach activities.
Required Education/Experience:
- MPH /Epidemiology and an advanced university degree in public health or medicine from a recognized university
- At least 4 years of experience in an international setting leading polio eradication activities, particularly in outbreak response in complex settings.
- At least 4 years of experience in vaccine practices and community-based surveillance activities.
- Experience working with multi-lateral partners at sub-regional, regional, and international levels.
- Periodic travel to the middle east.
- Arabic or French is beneficial but not a requirement.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
