Job Description:

• Responsible for full development cycle of a Data Warehouse, including requirements gathering, design, implementation and maintenance.
• Gather and analyze business requirements
• Develop technical specifications and design documents
• Architect and design Data Warehouse infrastructure and solutions
• Develop Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test scenarios, and Test scripts. Create Test Strategy / Test Data requirements.
• Test Data Warehouses/Data Marts
• Deploy and maintain Data Warehouses/Data Marts
• Ability to write SQL statements to profile and analyze data
• Work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ from project to project
• Ensure that quality processes are carried out through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Design and implement efficient and effective functional design solutions
• Work closely with the Business and Developers to ensure requirements are met
• Understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, and using Agile Methodology and Tools
• Respond to customer inquiries and production issues
• Document, discuss and resolve business, data and reporting issues within the team, across functional teams, and with business stakeholders
• Partner with Business during User Acceptance Testing , assist business users in defining User Acceptance Testing, test cases and plans. Actively participate in user group meetings to review use cases and review Test Results prior to UAT start.
• Present written and verbal data analysis findings, to both the project team and business stakeholders
• Monitor activities associated with responsible domains – job monitoring, issue identification, documentation, analysis and resolution.
• Continually look for ways to eliminate/reduce, streamline, and automate

Project Description: The UDW (United Data Warehouse) is one of the unique assets within UHG where they integrate data from 80+ sources and approximately 240 UHG platforms for Optum customers. This warehouses contains claim information, provider information, etc. (All data that has to do with insurance). Currently they have about 50+ subscribers, but that number is growing. UDW also acts as a data hub and data warehouse for reporting, analytics, etc. They are in the process of consolidating legacy assets to enhance UDW. This will increase the user base by more than 50% this year. They cannot migrate until they have accomplished this same look and feel. On the financial side of things, they are posting to the GL which impacts the stock market while also enhancing the other platforms, so they are the financial data framework for stock market.
