We’re looking for a Data Architect to join our team!
The Data Architect … performs a variety of professional, technical, and data driven duties involving the design, and transformation of databases. The Data Architect will lead projects and integrations by working with both internal and external resources to help develop IT strategies and projects. This position will help develop and maintain documentation and procedures to achieve best in class practices at ASC and enhance vendor relationships.
In this exciting role, you will:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Design and transform databases (i.e., ERP systems, Data Warehouse, and other systems)
- Design and create reports with extract transform load (ETL) processes from existing systems
- Write scripts and coding using Python and SQL to pull data to be used throughout the enterprise
- Coach internal and external client personnel on cloud configuration activities for support purposes
- Evaluate vendor solutions that can be integrated into cloud configuration activities
- Maintain data warehouse integrity and develop strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition and access, and data archiving and recovery
- Evaluate new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards and ease of integration
- Work both independently and with team members to deliver high quality data transformation and reporting solutions to business challenges
- Actively engage and work closely with internal and external customers to understand how ASC operates and where improvements can be made to support the company business model
- Document processes and regularly track data quality with the aim to identify gaps and introduce improvements
- Work must be accomplished efficiently while adhering to internal processes and meeting the requirements agreed upon with our business stakeholders
- Continuously explore database options and present risks and opportunities to senior management
- Lead and manage special projects needed, as required by this role
Do you have the following qualifications?
- Understand software development methodologies and life cycles
- Excellent oral and written communication, and listening skills
- Strong organization and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities in a high volume, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency, resolve problems timely and maintain patience while working on escalated support issues
- Successful working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Bachelor’s degree in the IT field or equivalent work experience
- Must have 5+ years of programming development experience
- Extensive knowledge in ETL processes and pipelines
- Extensive knowledge in Azure: Synapse Analytics, Data Services/Design, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake
- Full, advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Experienced in coding and data brick and software programs such as, Python and , SQL, the ETL processes
- Knowledge in cloud operating systems is required
- Remote work
- Be available via computer, video conferencing, and phone during business hours
- Work-from-home environment with fast Internet and ability to focus and work independently
The required physical abilities to perform this job:
- Primarily sitting, with some walking, standing, and bending
- Able to hear and speak into telephone
- Close visual work on a computer terminal
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments

The annualized base salary range for the IT Business Analyst is $75,000-$95,000. Animal Supply Company (ASC) compensation is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to role, level, and location. In addition, ASC’s pay can vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience for each candidate for the posted position. Included in ASC’s total compensation are benefits such as medical, dental, and retirement.
