About the Role
We are seeking a Data Analyst to provide support to Increasing Community Access to Testing (ICATT) within the Joint Information Center (JIC) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Data Analyst will be tasked with supporting team leads of the Operation Expanded Testing (OpET) Program.
Responsibilities

  • Performs daily quality checks of HHS protect line data. The objective is to ensure all required fields are present, in the right format and have been properly ingested. This is done for all three hubs.
  • Coordinates with multiple stakeholders to meet the program’s needs, regulations, and policies.
  • Performs validation of Invoices from vendors. These include PCR test and CUE tests.
  • Runs the analysis separately and confirm with each other to ensure CDC is getting the same numbers sent from the hubs. When there are data discrepancies, trouble shoots to find where the gaps lie and then reaches out to the hubs or Palantir to resolve the issues.
  • Conducts a secondary validation when the AOR sends the actual invoice.
  • Provides ad hoc analysis as needed. Examples of this has included validating missing data from previous years and refining calculation of % positivity. These requests often come from staff members, the AORs or the hubs.
  • Assists with creating OpET data documents: e.g. SOPs, Agendas, % reflex rate excel sheet, etc. These documents are stored in box.
  • Attends all hub and management meetings and provides current updates related to the OpET data.
  • Represents the data support during this meeting.
  • Leads data meetings and trouble shoots outstanding data issues with team.
  • Participates in data daily team internal meeting to discuss outstanding issues and delineate tasks for the week.

Requirements: Required Experience and Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience leading data analytics projects
  • Professional knowledge of data management activities and best practices
  • Ability to provide analytical analysis using standard software packages such as SAS, SPSS, R
  • Ability to navigate in changing environments and make decisions with incomplete data
  • Effective project management and organizational skills, with the ability to efficiently manage and respond to multiple requests and priorities
  • Excellent data communication and presentation skills
  • Experience collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to think critically, analyze situations and data, and solve problems
  • Experience validating, cleaning, and analyzing data from multiple sources
  • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data preferred
  • Experience visualizing data and writing data analysis summary reports preferred
  • Experience working with/in the CDC preferred
  • Ability to obtain government clearance

Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related field required, Master's of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology or Data Analysis preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift 25 pounds regularly.
