Job Title:  Data Analyst
Duration:  12 Months
Location:  100% remote working MST hours

Summary:  
As a Data Analyst Professional, you may work on locating and obtaining data from various internal and external sources; collecting Critical Customer Requirements; applying associated digital technologies; communicating with internal customers, team members, and stake holders; answering routine requests for information; and providing support to the teams on which you serve. Additional areas of responsibility may include data collection and analysis; development, validation, application, and refinement of database models; application of related digital technologies in processing both the inputs and outputs from the models. 

Job Responsibilities:  

•  Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time. 
•  Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive feedback. 
•  Strong knowledge of database management software. 
•  Review existing databases and database management systems and direct programmers and analysts to make changes. 
•  Review and approve the testing of programs or databases. 
•  Coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
•  Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. 
•  Approve, schedule, plan and implement the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems. 
•  Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, damage, or disclosure. 
•  Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information. 

Skills:  

•  Experience working with Cloud based databases and IAC tools like CFN 
•  Experience working on database performance and management with SQL and NoSQL databases. 
•  Experience working with MySQL, SQL Server, Postgres, DynamoDB/MongoDB etc 
•  Experience working with Snowflake, AWS Glue, Snaplogic or other ELT tools and Methods 
•  Experience working with AWS CFN, Lambda, Python, boto3, S3, EC2 etc 
•  Experience working with OLAP databases and reporting tools 
•  Working knowledge of C#, Java, AzDo, pipelines 

Education/Experience:  

•  Associate''s degree in computer programming 
•  8-10 years’ experience required.

Typical Day
1) Attend the team scrum and follow up of the tasks assigned and related communication and coordination. 
2) Tasks involving applying the below skills on a daily basis:  

•  Cloud based databases and IAC tools like CFN 
•  Database performance and management with SQL and NoSQL databases. 
•  MySQL, SQL Server, Postgres, DynamoDB/MongoDB etc 
•  Snowflake, AWS Glue, Snaplogic or other ELT tools and Methods 
•  AWS CFN, Lambda, Python, boto3, S3, EC2 etc 
•  OLAP databases and reporting tools 

*Position will be 100% remote working MST hours.

Education Requirements:  
Associate''s degree in computer science or similar field required. Bachelor’s degree highly preferred. 8+ years overall job exp required.

Technical Skills
Required:  

•  2+ years exp with Cloud based databases and AWS CFN 
•  5+ years exp with Database performance, Troubleshooting and management with SQL and NoSQL databases. 
•  5+ years exp with development in MySQL, SQL Server, and NoSQL 
•  2+ years exp with Postgres, DynamoDB/MongoDB etc 

Desired (should at least have a working knowledge of these technologies):  

•  Exp with OST tools like Gh-ost 
•  Snowflake, AWS Glue, Snaplogic or other ELT tools and Methods 
•  AWS CFN, Lambda, Python, boto3, S3, EC2 etc 
•  OLAP databases and reporting tools

Soft Skills

•  Strong verbal and written communication 
•  Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time. 
•  Strong inter-personnel skills to work with multiple team

Notes:
8-10 years’ experience required. 2+ years exp with Cloud based databases and AWS CFN. 5+ years exp with Database performance, Troubleshooting and management with SQL and NoSQL databases. 5+ years exp with development in MySQL, SQL Server, and NoSQL. 2+ years exp with Postgres, DynamoDB/MongoDB etc.Exp with OST tools and ETL tools is highly desired.
