Full Time Assistant Manager position available immediately for a self-motivated person who enjoys working with a progressive, high achieving dairy. Position offers a variety of duties on a 650 cow family operated dairy near Lester Prairie, MN that strives to keep our cows and employees happy. Current metrics at the dairy are a 34,200 RHA, 38% PG rate and 60,000 SCC. In addition to the dairy, the farm runs about 1000 acres for feed. This is a great position for someone who enjoys helping the farm thrive and manages their own time well! COMPENSATION
Annual Salary of $60,000-$80,0000 Benefits: Uniform Service, Relocation package, Paid time off
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
General herd health and reproduction management
Assist in employee management
Maintain accurate Dairy Comp 305 records, navigate Smart Dairy and Cow Manager Assist owner and other employees with general daily operating of the Dairy Operate farm equipment such as tractors, trucks, skid loaders, and implements to deliver feed, bedding, and grain and manure handling.
Assist in time sensitive planting and harvesting
QUALIFICATIONS:
MUST HAVE CURRENT DAIRY EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION
- herd health experience
- Experience operating modern farm equipment a must, familiar with silage/forage operation would also be a plus
- Dedicated and willing to work longer hours during peak seasons
- Routine maintenance and mechanic ability with an attention to detail a must
- Willingness to jump in and assist when and where needed is a must
- Experience/knowledge with manure management, application a plus
