Cyber Security Software Engineer – Mid-Level Moorestown

In-Depth Engineering is seeking mid-level Cyber Security Software Engineers in support of the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) combat system program. SSDS is an integrated weapons system used aboard large U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers, amphibious assault ships (LHA), (LHD) and Dock landing ships (LSD). The successful candidate will support the evaluation of infrastructure design in the area of cyber security, supporting vulnerability analysis of systems, and supporting system cyber security certification.
The work is performed at our customer site in Moorestown, NJ.
Duties:
Participate in development of operational architectures to implement dynamic defense capabilities- Conduct analysis of Combat systems to identify, assess, and design security features
- Participate in efforts to migrate from Red Hat 6.7 - 7.0
- Perform risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and security assessments
- Perform software and system level testing according to requirements
- Evaluating Linux computing platform devices, network designs and devices for cyber security vulnerabilities
- Completing cyber security systems engineering documentation and deliverables (e.g., requirements, configuration documentation, test plans and procedures, test reports)
- Troubleshooting computers, networks, infrastructure and cyber security applications
- Supporting design and integration of cyber security capabilities into Linux systems
- Contributing to engineering position papers, trade studies, product selection studies and presentations
Qualifications:
BS/MS in CE, EE, SW or related discipline- 2+ years of cyber engineering experience
- Strong understanding of developing computer software
- Experience with cyber risk management framework engineering process
- Experience writing technical memos, trade studies or other engineering documentation
- Expertise in configuring and securing Linux or Cisco
- Experience with Model Based Engineering, Agile methodologies, Automation techniques, or DevSecOps concepts
- Must be a US citizen
- Must be eligible to obtain and hold a government security clearance
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with RHEL 8- Security+ or CISSP certification
- Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash, Perl, Powershell)
- Knowledge of SIEM tool (Splunk) and Ansible
- RHEL 7/RedHawk 7 engineering and/or product integration experience
- Knowledge of DoD 8500.01 DIACAP/DoD 8510.01 RMF IA Controls (IACs)
