Our Lady of the Lake Parish is seeking a new Custodian responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and disinfecting all areas of the school. Perform basic clearing, sanitation, and minor maintenance of the school building and associated grounds including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, trash removal, etc. To accomplish these tasks the Custodian must work closely with the Facilities Supervisor and other staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Vacuum, dust, mop, and spot mop all assigned classrooms and offices.
2. Disinfect floors, drinking fountains, toilets, and sinks in restrooms/classrooms
3. Empty and clean all waste baskets.
4. Clean chalkboards, whiteboards, trays and erasers as needed.
5. Dust all horizontal surfaces, vents, and univents.
6. Clean walls around doors and light switches as needed.
7. Dust lockers, beams, etc.
8. Secure all windows and doors.
9. Change light bulbs, clocks and batteries as needed.
10. Clean/remove all graffiti as soon as discovered or reported.
11. Set up and take down furniture for events/ annual cleaning.
12. Maintain outdoor school property.
13. May assist or perform snow removal activities and minor maintenance
14. Perform cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements
15. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
16. Creates and maintains a cleaning schedule for the school building
17. Other duties as assigned by the principal, PAA and/or Facilities Director

Physical requirements necessary to perform essential position duties:
Stand/walk for prolonged periods of time.
Lift up to 75lbs.
Climb ladders and work at heights.
Use hand tools.
Work outdoors in all types of weather.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
