Custodian- Two Part Time Positions
Primary Purpose
Responsible for ensuring the building is clean and sanitized for all.
Essential Job Functions
- Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Spot cleans and shampoos as necessary.
- Cleans, dust and polishes furniture, fixtures, counters, walls, and other hard surfaces furniture.
- Cleans and disinfects all health center surfaces using germicides.
- Empty trash and recycle containers and transports to the dumpsters. Cleans trash receptacles.
- Cleans and maintains interior and exterior walkways.
- Collect regulated medical waste and prepare for vendor pickup.
- Cleans floor mats.
- Washes windows and mirrors.
- Defrosts office refrigerators, cleaning the inside of microwave ovens, refrigerators and kitchen sinks and counter surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure.
- Performs other cleaning duties as specified in schedule.
- Moving furniture and boxes, etc.
- Notifies promptly Department Supervisor for any and all unusable, unsafe, or damaged conditions.
- Attend agency staff and other meetings in the community as assigned.
- Maintain client and family confidentiality.
- Complies with all agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Consistently renders “WOW!” customer service.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of a variety of general cleaning task.
- Ability to orally communicate effectively with others, with or without the use of an interpreter.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing using the English language, with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services.
- Ability to review, understand, and apply concepts presented in training programs, conferences, and/or professional literature.
- Clear understanding that FoundCare and related agencies provides information on educating individuals about safer sex practices, which could include but not be limited to: exposure to explicit language, explicit printed material, and descriptions of explicit sexual activities, as part of the agency’s mission in the prevention and transmission of HIV disease.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to endure short, intermittent, and/or long periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
- Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds and able to climb/stand on a ladder to change light bulbs and A/C filters
- Transport him/herself to other agency departments, conference rooms, and on occasion, to off-site agency locations to accomplish job responsibilities, attend meetings, workshops, seminars, etc.
- Accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies e.g. pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboard, telephone, etc.
