Well established and growing company is looking for a Custodian for its facility in East Dundee, IL. This position is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of Apet’s facilities. The ideal candidate will be available to work Monday – Friday from 7:30 am-4:00 pm

Receive a $200 sign on bonus (paid after 90 days)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains Apet’s facility in clean and safe condition.
• During the winter months, removes snow and ice from walkways and parking lots.
• Operate an industrial floor sweeper and scrubber.
• Maintains a safe working environment, keeping all work areas clean and clear.
• Reports any unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Compassion for our animals, customers, and employees
• 1-2 years of experience as a janitor or custodian.
• Understands and abides by all of Apet’s policies and procedures, including but not limited to Apet’s Pledge of Care.
• Maintains safe and compassionate animal handling practices, at all times, while performing job duties.

Physical Demands:

• Employee is frequently and regularly required to lift and carry in excess of 20- 50 pounds, stoop, kneel or bend. The ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time is required.
• Employee must be able to operate equipment and tools required by the position,including pushing, pulling, pending, knelling, and twisting.
• In performing duties, employee is regularly required to use hands to grasp; and to reach with hands and arms, at or above shoulder level.
• Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment.
